Take the Wheel Driving School is operated by Michael Brittain who is a calm, patient & understanding fully accredited, Certificate IV Qualified Driving Instructor. This is the highest level of instruction currently available.  Michael believes that student learning to drive should be encouraged to learn to drive a manual car as this will give them a far greater scope to drive all types of vehicles in the years to come. Learning to drive a manual car allows you to really be “in tune” or “at one” with your car. Using dual control vehicle teaching techniques Michael can assist you to learn to drive.

Michael is the father of 2 young drivers so he understands that trust is required when learning to drive. He understands that teaching someone to drive requires real involvement, not just words. Tell me, Show me & Involve me covers all aspects of the importance of working with & teaching the student to ensure they achieve their outcome of passing their Practical Driving Assessment.

At “Take the Wheel” Michael sees learning to drive a car as an important “rite of passage” for everyone. He will teach you to drive in a new 2023 model 5 star safety rated red Suzuki Swift.

Learning to drive is all about safety, but Michael also has a sense of humour to keep the fun aspect of driving. The red coloured driving instruction car stands out on the road & is easy to see.
